Course Syllabus
VRT Basic Course ONE DAY BASIC VRT COURSE - DETAILS The Basic VRT Workshop, for qualified reflexologists only , will cover the background to the discovery and development of Vertical Reflex Therapy (Vertical Reflexology) and Synergistic Reflexology. Its role as a new technique for treating orthopaedic and all other conditions while feet are weight-bearing will be examined and demonstrated as well as its benefits in enhancing conventional reflexology treatments. It is essential that this Basic course is taken prior to the Advanced or other courses. The VRT techniques are subtle and the individual practical instruction, which takes place on a course, is an essential part of learning VRT regardless of any prior knowledge of VRT. There will be practical sessions where the basic concepts and techniques of VRT are learnt plus the very effective Synergistic Reflexology technique where hands and feet are worked simultaneously. Self-help and Diaphragm Rocking techniques will be demonstrated and a comprehensive handout, with charts showing new reflex points on the dorsum and legs, will be provided. The theory of Zonal Triggers and three-point Synergistic Reflexology will be shown. Details and case histories relating to the small medically approved trial on VRT will be briefly presented. In this trial over 60% of participants showed a remarkable improvement in seven weeks. Aspects of M.E., asthma, arthritis and stress will be specifically discussed. A 20 minute Complete VRT/Reflexology treatment will be taught and experienced. Participants will be encouraged to appreciate the scope of shorter treatments for children, the chronically ill and elderly. Reflexologists will be encouraged to look at the expansion of their work into areas such as offices, sports teams and services such as the police where shorter treatments could be offered. A Certificate of Attendance will be issued. At the end of this course, therapists will be able to immediately integrate VRT into their practice. Once this Basic course has been completed you may attended the other VRT courses in any order. |
